Taking Over the World, one country at a time!

We here at Exploding Goat Games need YOUR help! We have a forum for our gaming company and have only 5 of 195 countries represented by registered forum users...

We need YOU! Stop by our forums (linked from our main webpage at [link]) or from the direct link below. Register a forum user account to help us get 100% of the globe registered with our community!!! You don't even need to post (although we'd love to hear from you). We just need to have our moderator's map filled with blue (indicating a country with a registered user).

We've got forums for our games, the wargaming/role playing hobby, modeling and terrain, general (PG-13) chat, and a swap meet where users and sell and trade their gaming stocks with other registered users!!

We constantly post updates on all of our products and solicit playtesters world-wide from our Bleatings (announcements) forum!

Stop on by!

Apocalypse-Z Released Worldwide

Sun Nov 9, 2008, 10:12 PM
Zombies are storming the planet!

Well, its finally happened...

Our first actual printed title, Apocalypse-Z, has shipped worldwide! Last week it hit the stores through our imprint publishing arrangement with Mongoose Publishing.

Apocalypse-Z is a supplementary rulebook for Mongoose's Battlefield Evolution miniature wargame rule set. It allows players to field forces of zombies trying to feast upon our flesh or humans struggling to survive in what is left of humanity.

You can get it through most hobby stores and online. Since it has an ISBN you can also get it through pretty much any book store as well.

For more info check out [link]

Ok...enough of the shameless self promotion ;)

Thanks
Jay

Aoocalypse-Z

Apocalypse-Z is taking the world by storm (well... maybe a mid-summer afternoon sprinkle) :)

Things are going well for The Goat.

We've almost sold out of our pre-release run of Apocalypse-Z rulebooks and activity on our website and forums ( [link] ) is on the rise. Apocalypse-Z is a miniature wargaming rule supplement for Battlefield Evolution by Mongoose Publishing ( [link] ) in which the beleaguered remnants of humanity struggle to survive against hordes of raging zombies!!!

The cover for Apocalypse-Z, by Deviant Marc Lee ( [link] ) has met with UNIVERSAL praise. Marc's art has generated extremely positive feedback.

Here's a blog review of the Apocalypse-Z pre-release:

This is entirely what a gaming review should be, well thought-out, with constructive critiques. I was overall very pleased with the review and thankful to Robert (CCotD) for the time he spent.

Our first published release!

Well, we've been very hard at work here at Exploding Goat Games. Our zombie project, Apocalypse-Z, wrapped up and was accepted into the Flaming Cobra imprint program with Mongoose Publishing. Our first pre-release run of books was printed and debuted at Historicon in Lancaster, PA last weekend. The book was very well received and sold 16 copies with a few vendors expressing interest.
As part of the Mongoose's imprint program, Apocalypse-Z will see worldwide distribution starting this November. Any major game distributor can pick it up and this means that any local hobby store can carry it. It'll also be available it ny book store since it has an ISBN and all the trimmings for retail distribution. We are, of course, very excited about this. It is a deviation from our prior downloadable PDF print-and-play style games, but it was the natural progression for the Goat to take.
We'd like to offer a hearty thank you to Deviant Marc Lee (aka Rub-a-Duckie) whose art was featured on the cover. Check out the Exploding Goat deviations for a look at the cover and a link to Marc's Deviations.
We're full on into the work of our next print project, Apocalypse-D, in which cavemen and dinosaurs are thrust into modern times and epic battles ensue for dominance of the earth!
Feel free to check out our website at [link] for more updates and links to the gaming industry!

Thanks,
Jay

Updates long overdue

Fri May 30, 2008, 9:06 AM
Its been a long while since an update, sooo.

There's been big doings lately here at Exploding Goat Games (especially since we're a part time business).

Several months back one of the large game design/publishing companies, Mongoose Publishing based out of Swindon, UK, announced that they were going to open the license on one of their successful miniature wargaming titles, Battlefield Evolution. This open license would allow anyone to write supplements for their Evo line of games; even for profit. There's a few restrictions that require any supplement not include the core rules so new players must purchase the core books by Mongoose to use indy-publishers (us) products. Wizards of the Coast did this same thing with Dungeons & Dragons role playing several years back.
We at the Goat were kicking around ideas and came up with some stuff we thought would do very well in the wargaming market. We decided to put all other projects (including Graft) on hold to work exclusively on two titles: Apocalypse-Z and Apocalypse-D.
Apocalypse-Z is, quite simply, ZOMBIES ZOMBIE ZOMBIES!!! After an outbreak of a virus-gone-wrong by self-serving and arrogant corporation, humanity lies on the brink, surrounded by undead nasties that have mistaken us for food. Yes, I know, its a terrible cliche', but there's a good reason that its a cliche'. Its SOOOO damn fun! I've personally never been a fan of horror flicks, with the exception of zombie movies. Those are just a hoot!
Apocalypse-D is, for those of us sci-fi geeks, akin to Ray Bradbury' "Sound of Thunder". After man develops time travel, he rips apart the space time continuum and out come DINOSAURS! Modern man and dinosaurs led by neanderthals are now forced to co-exist and all manner of hell breaks out. I must say that there's something very satisfying in seeing (on the tabletop, represented by miniatures) a T-Rex or Triceratops smash an M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank to pieces!

Apocalypse-Z is in the final stages of playtest and formatting and we've got things in the works to sign an "Imprint" agreement with a publishing company. This will mean worldwide distribution and mass marketing. We're obviously very excited about this!

Apocalypse-D is being playtested and we're developing the background story, or "fluff" in game terms.

We do plan on resuming work on Graft later in the summer, but we couldn't miss this opportunity to grab on the to coat tails of a big game developer. We're also planning on working under the soon-to-be-released open license for Mongoose Publishing's newest version of the world famous and time-tested "Traveller" sci-fi role playing game!

Ok, enough rambling, back to work...

Stop by our website at www.explodinggoatgames for more news, forums, blogs, etc...

Thanks
Jason
